Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Footprints mobile application ("the app") developed by Taveyo. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

Footprints is a personal walking tracker that records your GPS locations and displays them as a heatmap on an interactive map. The app provides walking statistics, streak tracking, and neighborhood coverage analysis.

2. GPS and Data Accuracy

Location data is provided by your device's GPS hardware and is subject to inaccuracies caused by environmental factors, hardware limitations, and signal conditions. The app makes no guarantee regarding the precision or accuracy of:

• GPS coordinates recorded during your walks
• Distance, speed, or duration calculations
• Neighborhood boundary data obtained from OpenStreetMap
• Coverage percentages and cell visit counts

These measurements are provided for personal informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for navigation, safety, or professional purposes.

3. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your own safety while using the app. Do not use the app in a way that distracts you from your surroundings while walking or exercising. Always be aware of traffic, obstacles, and other hazards. The app is not a substitute for situational awareness.

4. Cloud Backup

The app offers optional backup to Google Drive (Android) and iCloud (iOS). These features are provided for your convenience. We are not responsible for:

• Data loss or corruption that may occur during backup or restore operations
• Changes to third-party cloud service availability or terms
• Unauthorized access to your cloud storage accounts

Use of cloud backup features is subject to Google's and Apple's respective terms of service.

5. Privacy

Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how data is collected, used, and stored.

6. Intellectual Property

The app, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is owned by Taveyo and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works based on the app.

7. No Warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Taveyo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the app, regardless of the theory of liability.

9. Modifications to the App and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the app at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from your device. All locally stored data will be removed when the app is uninstalled.
